Terms of service

The rules that govern buying from this site. Plain language, but they are binding.

1. Who you are dealing with

This site is operated by Sanford & Kid of 160 Houghton St, North Adams, MA 01247, United States. Using the site means you accept what is written here. If you do not, please do not order.

2. You must be able to buy

You need to be at least eighteen, or the age of majority where you live, and using a payment method you are entitled to use. Orders that appear fraudulent, or that are placed for resale in commercial quantities, may be cancelled and refunded without further explanation.

3. How our goods are described

We take description seriously, so read this clause even if you skip the rest.

Jewellery offered here is reproduction in the antique manner. Metal is a plated gold or silver tone finish; stones are simulated or lab-created. Nothing on this site is sold as solid precious metal or as a mined gemstone unless a listing states so explicitly.
Dresses are reproductions of period cuts, made in modern fabrics and modern sizing. Era labels such as "1950s" describe the style a piece is cut after, not its date of manufacture.
Measurements are taken by hand and may vary by one to two centimetres.
Colour on a screen is not colour in daylight. Photographs are the best record we can give you, and we would rather you asked than guessed.

4. Prices and mistakes

Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice; the price binding on an order is the one shown when you check out. Occasionally something is listed at an obviously wrong price or is described in error. Where that happens we may cancel the order, and we will tell you and refund you in full rather than quietly substituting something else.

5. Stock

Stock counts are updated automatically but the shop also sells over the counter, so a piece can occasionally sell in person moments before it sells online. If that happens we contact you and refund the item immediately.

6. Payment and title

Payment is taken at checkout. Goods remain ours until paid for in full. Risk passes to you on delivery.

7. Returns

Returns are governed by our refunds and returns page, which forms part of these terms.

8. Our content

The photographs, descriptions, wordmark and page designs on this site belong to Sanford & Kid. You may share links freely. You may not copy our product photography or descriptions to list the same goods elsewhere.

9. Using the site properly

Do not scrape it, attempt to break it, submit false information, or use it to harass anyone. We may withdraw access from anyone who does.

10. What we are responsible for

We stand behind what we sell and behind the accuracy of our descriptions. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not accept liability for indirect losses such as lost profit or missed occasions. None of this affects rights that consumer law gives you and does not allow us to exclude.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and disputes belong to the state and federal courts sitting in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
